Many rescued dogs now live with Hatice – and every day she feeds the forest dogs.
It all began in 2012 with the Sopen Gazi animal shelter – founded in 2005 by Nebiha Deprem on a large forest property, at times home to as many as 3,000 dogs. After Nebiha’s death in 2018, Hatice Şenoğul took over responsibility.
The shelter in Sopen Gazi still exists today but is run by the city. The dogs we care for live directly with Hatice – among them the so-called listed dogs (“Listis”) and Kangals – and out in the forest, where she feeds the forest dogs day after day.
What is needed every month
Around 70 sacks of food for the forest dogs, 100 sacks for the dogs in Izmir, and 130 sacks plus 600 cans for the Listis. Hatice is supported in this by Sabriye, our employee on the ground.
Only together are we strong and can change the world for these dogs.
